Those of you that already know me will know that I’m not new here. I’ve been blogging and running a business online for eight years now, but recently I decided it was time for a change.
I built a world around me under the name Onetenzeroseven, which was all completely unexpected. I never planned to start my own business and I certainly never thought I would end up working for myself full time. When I first used the name Onetenzeroseven I was setting up an Etsy account to buy some beautiful craft supplies – I didn’t intend it to become a shop, but some times these things get out of hand.
You learn a lot as you navigate through small business life and as much as I loved the story behind my name, it didn’t mean anything to anyone else. No one could remember it, no one could spell it and I got increasingly frustrated with it.
When I first started making things I didn’t have a plan, I didn’t have a purpose and I certainly didn’t have a brand.
Eight years later and I’ve got a pretty good idea what mark I want to leave on the world and now I’m in my 30s I don’t worry so much about what people think anymore. I believe we shouldn’t be afraid to be a little different, a little silly and a little more colourful so I want to share my stories with you – and I hope you’ll feel like joining in – as I live my life as a silly loaf!
