24 Hours in Liverpool

A few months ago Stu and I headed to Liverpool for a super quick 24 hours. Stu had managed to get tickets to a Liverpool game, which is notoriously difficult to do, and since I know another Etsy Captain who lives there I went along for the journey and gatecrashed a Merseyside Etsy Team meeting for the evening. Those guys were super fun to hang out with. (What’s an Etsy Team, you ask? Head here to find out!)

We managed to squeeze a fair bit of stuff into our very short trip – starting with a wonder around the shops as Liverpool has a Forever 21, which Leeds doesn’t! I picked up some really cute polka dot dungarees in the sale, which I then had to change into because I had totally underestimated the glorious weather!

Then the real exploring began at the Dock where we had a wander along the water, stopped for a beer in the sunshine at the Pump House, explored the Albert Dock and went to check out the Liver Building. It was absolutely stunning!

For dinner we needed something quick and easy before Stu went off to the game, but we also wanted to try something local and indie as usual! With our new obsession with poutine from our recent trip to Toronto, we found Caribou Poutine who do some amazing toppings for their gravy and cheese curd soaked fries!

In the morning we headed out to the Baltic Triangle to have some amazing brunch at Siren and explore some of the colourful street art that drips from the walls there. We were short on time, but next time I’d love to check out the botanical garden there!

We had to dash off for our train home, but there is so much more to see. Liverpool – you are on my list!
